DESCRIPTION:Fibre Friends is all about socks for the next three sessions! If it’s time for you to master the art of sock knitting\, then join Geraldine for three 1 hour sessions with time in between to have a go at home. \nSession 1 Thursday 27th March – Cast on both of your socks using the magic loop method on the circular needles that you will receive as a free gift for booking. \nSession 2 Thursday 10th April – Learn how to turn the heel and continue to knit the body of the socks. \nSession 3 Thursday 24th April – Complete your socks and confidently cast off! \nThere is one payment for all three sessions and\, as mentioned\, you will receive your circular needles free! \nYou will need a ball of 4ply sock yarn which is available in a variety of colours in Bugweed’s yarn emporium!! \nThese are small\, relaxed knitting sessions where our lovely expert\, Geraldine\, will guide you through the process of sock knitting and answer all your questions. Basic knitting skills are required but you will no doubt learn quickly and confidently within the group so don’t worry if you are relatively new to knitting!

DESCRIPTION:Are you lucky enough to have a sewing machine at home but terrified to get it out the box and begin your sewing journey? Well\, this is the perfect workshop for you! Debbie\, our patient and knowledgeable tutor\, will guide you through the very basics of your sewing machine from finding the power switch to threading it up! \nWhat will I learn? \n\nthe names of the basic parts of my sewing machine\nhow to thread the top thread\nhow to wind and thread up the bobbin\nways of changing stitch patterns\nsewing in a straight line\nturning a corner\n\nand more!! \nWhat will I make? \nYou will sew your first project in the workshop and leave the session with a simple tote bag. The main aim of the workshop is to give you the confidence to go away and try simple projects on your own! \nWhat should I bring? \nYour sewing machine and the instruction booklet if you have one. We will provide fabric and thread and you can use scissors and haberdashery items from our studio resources. \nPLEASE send us the make and model of your sewing machine with your booking. This will help Debbie to know which machines will be coming to the workshop!
