DESCRIPTION:This is a 6 week workshop\, with one session each week. If you cannot attend them all\, please let us know and we will try and accommodate you as much as possible! \nAre you ready for the next step on your quilting journey? Well this is for you! Helene is poised to help you master Half Square Triangles (HSTs)\, a new quilting block and more. The Moda Love Charm Quilt block will bring new techniques and challenges to your quilting skills and Helene will be there to guide you through each step from fabric choices to finishing techniques. You will also qualify for a session of ‘Space to Craft’ worth £14 which means you can come and spend time consolidating your learning and take some will earned ‘me time’! \nLove Quilting \nWeek 1 \nFabric choices\, layout of colours and cutting techniques. \nWeek 2 \nOrganising HSTs and piecing together. \nWeek 3 \nCompleting blocks and arranging them for the full quilt. \nWeek 4 \nQuilting using straight lines 1/4in from the ditch or diagonal lines. \nWeek 5 \nMake and attach the binding. \nWeek 6 \nHand sew the binding down\, finish off your quilt and even have chance to make a label for it! \nWhat do you need to bring? \n\nSewing machine\nEnthusiasm\nA notebook and pen\n\nWhat is included? \n\n1 charm pack\nthread\none free ‘Space to Craft’ day at Bugweed’s usually costing £14\n10% off all purchases in the shop for your quilt\n\nRequired sewing knowledge/experience \nThis workshop is suitable for improving beginners to quilting. You will need to be familiar with your machine and how to use it’s basic features such as winding and inserting the bobbin\, threading up your machine and needle\, changing the feet and needle and sewing a straight stitch. This session is not suitable for complete beginners quilters – look for out our Beginners Quilting course coming soon! \nAbout our tutor \nHelene is not only an all round fabulous person but also a fabulous quilter! She has many years of teaching little people in school and so has the patience of a saint\, which makes teaching quilting to us adults a breeze! Helene loves quilting with a passion and can be found at her beloved Bernina sewing machine on an evening and weekend. She is part of the Yorkshire Modern Quilters group and enjoys experimenting with colour and pattern in her quilts\, bags and other hand made items. Helene is very understanding of people’s individual needs and ways of learning so if you have any worries\, concerns or questions about the workshops please just ask.

DESCRIPTION:Welcome back to our child and adult holiday workshops! It’s February half term and time for some crafty crochet! \nCome and learn how to crochet a wind spinner snake with the lovely Sophie. Suitable for beginners and perfect for children and adults who want to learn together or just have some fun crafty time! \nSophie\, our fantastic tutor\, will teach the basics of crochet\, from how to hold the yarn to crocheting simple basic stitches. She can teach both left and right handed crochet so don’t worry… we’ve got everyone covered! \nLeave the session having mastered a chain\, crocheted some simple stitches for your colourful spinny snake AND with new confidence in a craft you are learning together! \nAll materials are provided\, all you need to do is come along and enjoy the session together. Children MUST be accompanied by an adult at all times\, but remember… adult places are free\, just pay for each child you are bringing!
