We are so excited to bring you a complete beginners sock-knitting course where you will have chance to really master your skills. \nSocks can look intimidating\, but they don’t have to be. \nJoin us for a relaxed\, supportive 3 week sock-knitting course designed for sock beginners\, rusty knitters and anyone who’s ever felt stuck with those double-pointed needles or turning heels. Running every other Saturday\, this course breaks down the process into clear manageable steps so you can build confidence\, learn essential techniques and finish with a beautiful handmade sock! \nDon’t rush to learn and fail\, come and take your time; ask questions and practice your skills. \nAcross the three sessions\, you’ll learn everything from a stretchy cast-on and turning heels to shaping the toe\, with plenty of guidance\, demonstrations\, and time to practice in a friendly environment with lots of tea and biscuits! \nWeek 1  \nLearn the stretchy Norwegian cast-on\, perfect for socks. Create the ribbed cuff. Start knitting the leg of the sock. Get comfy using DPNs and other sock knitting treats! \nWeek 2 \nStep-by-step guidance to knit the heel flap and turning the heel. Pick up stitches and create the gusset. Begin to knit the foot of the sock. \nWeek 3 \nShape the toe. Learn how to finish off the sock and use garter stitch. Knitting is one of her many textile passions and she confidently tackles a whole range of tricky knitting patterns. She is studying pattern design at University and is looking forward to a career in the fashion industry. Eleanor is patient with all learners and is highly skilled at explaining tricky techniques.

It’s time to get knitting mastered with our carefully designed series of 12 workshops to help you learn all the skills you will need to be a successful confident knitter. \nEmma and Sue\, our tutors with oceans of knowledge\, are ready to guide you through every stage from casting on to working in 3d. Come and learn essential skills and techniques for different knitting projects and make some items on the way! \nDon’t rush to learn and fail\, come and take your time; ask questions and practice your skills. \nEach month there will be different a focus for learning and slowly but surely your knitting sills and confidence will bloom! \nApril \nHand-Warmers – Part 1 of 2\nJoin us for a relaxed and friendly session exploring a range of beautiful yarns and discovering how each one feels to knit. You’ll have the chance to try four ply\, double knit\, and chunky yarns before choosing your favourite for your project. \nWe’ll learn how to create ribbing using knit and purl stitches\, then begin making your very own hand-warmers.
