DESCRIPTION:Come and learn bag making using the incredibly popular ByAnnie patterns. \nThis first session is for those who have been wanting to try ByAnnie patterns but would welcome the expert tuition of Graham to guide you through the process. It’s time to have a go at bag-making! \nThere are two patterns to choose from: Clam Up or Project Bags 2.0 \nWho is this for? \nYou are confident sewing with your machine but may not have attempted a bag or zipped pouch before. You have seen the ByAnnie bags dotted around the shop and want to have a go at following the pattern and making your own. \nWhat do I bring? \nYour sewing machine with its accessories. The patterns will be available to buy with a 10% discount on the day. Please either bring your fabrics and zip with you or purchase before the class. \nDetailed list of materials to follow. \nWhat will I achieve? \nIf you don’t finish your project\, you’ll be very close to it by the end of the session. You will go away with your pattern and all the skills you need to finish at home. \n  \nIf you book for both this session and the subsequent Ask an Expert ByAnnie bag-making surgery you will receive a voucher worth £5 to spend in the shop.

DESCRIPTION:This month Helen will guide you through using the Drunkards Path template to create a beautiful spring petal block! Mix strong colours and patterns on low volume\, neutral backgrounds to create a stunning block which can be made in to a cushion cover. Perfect for your home\, for a friend or perhaps for a mother figure…remember its Mother’s Day on the 30th March! \nWhat do you need to bring?- \n\nDrunkards path acrylic template ( preferably 4 1/2” finished)\nCharm pack or scraps that are at least 5” square for the petal block (which needs to total half a metre in total)\nHalf metre of background fabric\nThread\n28mm rotary cutter\n1/4” foot or capability to move needle on your machine to 1/4” (ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY)\nfabric marking pen\nhalf metre of batting\n\nRequired sewing knowledge/experience \nThis workshop is suitable for beginners to quilting. You will need to be familiar with your machine and how to use it’s basic features such as winding and inserting the bobbin\, threading up your machine and needle\, changing the feet and needle and sewing a straight stitch. This session is not suitable for complete sewing machine beginners however\, you do not need to have any experience of quilting. You must have a 1/4″ foot or the ability to move your needle to the 1/4″ seam allowance. Please get in touch with Bugweed’s if you would like help in sourcing the supplies required. \n  \n
