You will also get plenty of tips as to how to get the perfect corners too! \nWhat do you need to bring? \n\nSewing machine and thread\n2 skinny quarters  of 2 contrasting fabrics\nA 20″ x 20″ square quilt sandwich\nYou must have a 1/4″ foot or the ability to move your needle to the 1/4″ seam allowance\nFabric marking pen\nRuler\nRotary cutter\n\nRequired sewing knowledge/experience \nThis workshop is suitable for beginners to quilting. You will need to be familiar with your machine and how to use it’s basic features such as winding and inserting the bobbin\, threading up your machine and needle\, changing the feet and needle and sewing a straight stitch. This session is not suitable for complete sewing machine beginners however\, you do not need to have any experience of quilting. You must have a 1/4″ foot or the ability to move your needle to the 1/4″ seam allowance

We are thrilled to bring all those in our community\, age 7 and upwards\, an opportunity to be creative with air dry clay. Come and make a ladybird! \nWho is it for? \nThis fantastic ceramics workshop is aimed at all those aged 7 upwards. You will have chance to learn simple techniques and enjoy being creative whilst learning from an expert. Sarah is experienced in teaching her craft to others and is highly enthusiastic about children’s creative journeys. This is a workshop for those who are happy to experience touching and moulding clay\, you may get a bit dirty! We ask that children under 13 are supervised at all times. \nWhat do I bring? \nJust your creative enthusiasm and an adult if you are under 13 years of age. Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty and an apron if you have one! \nWhat will I achieve? \nParticipants will leave the workshop with a wonderful\, unique sculpture and will have learnt basic skills in modelling and ceramics. We hope to see lots of ladybirds! Sculptures will need to have time to dry out before being painted so painting is not included in the workshop.

This workshop is suitable for beginners to quilting. You will need to be familiar with your machine and how to use it’s basic features such as winding and inserting the bobbin\, threading up your machine and needle\, changing the feet and needle and sewing a straight stitch. This session is not suitable for complete sewing machine beginners however\, you do not need to have any experience of quilting. You must have a 1/4″ foot or the ability to move your needle to the 1/4″ seam allowance. \nWhat do I bring?  \n\nYour machine\nZipper foot\n\nYou can either raid your stash or get your supplies on the day. DESCRIPTION:Join Catherine to learn how to knit stranded colourwork! \nIn this workshop you will learn the techniques used in knitting stranded colourwork. Working through a simple project together you will cover reading colourwork patterns and charts\, choosing and managing yarns\, and tips for maintaining even tension. By the end of the workshop you will have the techniques and confidence to tackle any colourwork project you like. \nWhat do I need to bring? \nPlease bring a 3.5mm circular needle\, 40cm long. A printed pattern and 3 balls of Jamieson’s Spindrift will be provided. \nPrevious experience required? \nAimed at anyone already comfortable with basic knitting techniques\, including knitting in the round on a circular needle. No previous colourwork experience is needed. \nAbout our tutor \nCatherine learnt to knit as a new mum\, desperate for something to do where she could see progress. It worked\, and a decade on she still loves the ability to create fabric out of yarn\, to play with colour\, texture and pattern\, and to fit garments to bodies of any shape and size. She has published several knitting patterns of her own and also enjoys spinning her own yarn. \n
