SUMMARY:Introduction to Wool Painting - Create a wet felted picture
DESCRIPTION:Make your own unique wool painting! \nJoin our experienced tutor Katy who will guide through the wet felting process\, helping you produce a unique piece of artwork\, also known as ‘wool painting’. \nThis workshop is for children aged 8 and above. Parents/carers will need to stay with the children. \nWhat do I need to bring? \nNothing\, all materials and equipment will be provided. \nPrevious experience required \nNo previous experience needed. This workshop is suitable for beginners. \nOur tutor Katy \nKaty works mainly with Merino wool\, using felting and embroidery to create landscape stories. Changing skies\, seasons and rural scenes inspire her beautiful pictures. She also makes wearable accessories and clothing using the same felting techniques. Katy has exhibited her work for some years and can be found at local artisan fairs and exhibitions.  She is a member of the International Feltmakers Association. \nKaty was an Art & Textiles teacher in Secondary schools across North and West Yorkshire for 24 years. She has taught all ages and abilities from 11 – 18 years. This breadth of experience means she is well suited to teach workshops. \n

Join Helen who will show you how! \nWhat will you learn? \nJoin Helen and she will show you the basics of using a sewing machine. You will learn how to thread the machine\, wind a bobbin\, understand basic stitches\, how to change the foot. You will be able to complete the sewing machine driving test! \nEveryone will have the opportunity to put their new skills into practice by completing a small project. \nThis workshop is recommended for adults or children ages 8+. Adults are welcome to come by themselves. Parents/carers will need to stay with the children. \nPrevious experience required? \nNone\, this is suitable for beginners \nWhat will I need to bring? \nIf you have your own sewing machine please bring that along\, otherwise you are welcome to use one of our studio machines. Do let us know when booking if you need to borrow a machine.
