Jelly Roll Club

Tue October 20 @ 10:30 am - Tue November 17 @ 12:30 pm
£95.00
This is a 5-week quilting journey, with one session each week. Join us on Tuesday mornings from 10.30am–12.30pm, beginning 20th October, for five inspiring weeks of quilting, creativity and plenty of Bugweed’s chat. If you can’t attend every session, please let us know and we’ll always do our very best to help you catch up.
At Bugweed’s, we absolutely love a Jelly Roll! There’s something so satisfying about opening up those beautiful coordinated strips and watching them transform into a stunning quilt.
Whether you’re eager to make one of our carefully chosen Jelly Roll quilt patterns or have fallen in love with a pattern of your own, this course gives you the freedom to create the quilt you want while learning alongside a friendly group of fellow quilters.
Throughout the five weeks, Helene will guide you through every stage of the quilting process, helping you build confidence and develop techniques that you’ll use again and again.
Week 1 – Getting Started
Learn how to get the very best from your Jelly Roll strips as we explore your chosen pattern together. We’ll break each pattern down into manageable steps before you begin sewing your first units, leaving you with the confidence to continue stitching at home.
Week 2 – Building Your Blocks
Refine your patchwork skills as you master chain piecing, accurate trimming and pressing techniques to create beautifully consistent blocks.
Week 3 – Layout & Design
One of the most exciting stages! Experiment with different layouts and discover how changing the arrangement of your blocks can completely transform the look of your quilt.
Week 4 – Constructing Your Quilt Top
Bring your quilt together by sewing your blocks into rows while learning techniques for matching seams and achieving crisp, accurate points.

Week 5 – Finishing Your Quilt Top
Complete your quilt top before learning what comes next. Helenewill demonstrate how to make a quilt sandwich with batting and backing, square up your quilt, prepare binding and attach it with neat mitred corners, giving you all the knowledge you need to confidently finish your quilt at home.

By the end of the course, you’ll have a completed quilt top, the confidence to finish your quilt independently, and a whole new set of patchwork and quilting skills to use on future projects

As always at Bugweed’s, you’ll enjoy learning in a relaxed, welcoming environment with plenty of tea, laughter and encouragement. One of the best parts of this course is seeing everyone’s different fabric choices and patterns come to life you’ll leave inspired by your own quilt and everyone else’s too!
