Help I’ve bought a coverstitch!

We have recently seen many more people purchasing coverstitch machines and we want to make sure you are making the most of these amazing machines! The perfect course for beginners who want to learn the basics of how to use their coverstitch machine. If you are considering purchasing a coverstitch machine, this would also be really useful for you to come to. We have a LIMITED amount of coverstitches to borrow for the workshop so please let us know if you would like to borrow one before you book!

• Understanding the parts
• Understanding and adjusting tension
• Changing a needles
• Looking after your coverstitch, including cleaning
• Adjusting the stitch length
• Adjusting the cutting width
• How to make sure it does not come unthreaded
• How to easily rethread in a different colour
• Some simple coverstitch techniques
• How to hem blind

What do you need to bring?

• Your coverstitch and thread. Please let us know which machine you have when booking. This workshop is suitable for overlocker/ coverstitch combined machines.

Our tutor

Our tutor Debbie is a textiles teacher with over twenty years experience of teaching both art based textiles and technology. This has led to a wide range of skills in all areas of textiles, from stitching on machines and by hand as well as manipulation of fabrics and materials.
