Introduction to customising patterns

This session is all about customising patterns to make them more accessible and suitable for different needs. Gill will share her hints and tips on different ways patterns can be customised. By the end of the session you will:
- Have adjusted a pattern to move the opening/closure
- Have adjusted a pattern to change the closure type e.g. from a zip to snaps
- Have adjusted a pattern to add an opening on a seam where typically there might not be one to make access easier
This is a paper based workshop so sewing machines will not be needed.
What do you need to bring?
Nothing, everything will be provided.
Required sewing knowledge/experience
You need to have good basic knowledge of a sewing machine and be able to sew a straight stitch.
You also need a basic understanding of using a garment pattern. This session is not suitable for absolute beginners that haven’t got experience of using a sewing machine or making clothes using garment patterns.
