Jelly Roll Race Day

Join us for a fun and relaxed day of sewing as we turn a jelly roll into a completed quilt top, ready to be quilted!
Despite the name, this is absolutely NOT a race. We don’t race anything at Bugweed’s! There are no prizes for speed, no frantic sewing and no pressure to be the first one finished. This is a day to relax, enjoy your sewing and spend time with fellow quilters while working towards a completed jelly roll quilt top.
Bring your own jelly roll or purchase one from the shop before the day, then spend the day sewing, chatting and watching your quilt top grow. By the end of the day, you should leave with a completed jelly roll quilt top ready for quilting.
To help you make the most of your sewing time, we recommend pre-winding plenty of bobbins before you arrive. That way, you can keep sewing without having to stop and wind bobbins during the day!
What do you need to bring?
- One jelly roll (40 strips, 2½” × 44”)
- Your sewing machine
- Thread
- Plenty of pre-wound bobbins
- Your usual sewing machine accessories and equipment
What is included
- A full day of relaxed sewing and quilting
- Help and guidance throughout the day
- 10% off all shop purchases on the day
Required sewing knowledge/experience
This day is suitable for anyone with basic sewing machine skills. You should be comfortable using your sewing machine and sewing a straight stitch with a quarter inch seam.
