Block of the Month

This month Helen will show you how to Quilt as you go ( QAYG) Square in a Square.
A great introduction to quilt as you go, making a large quilt seem less daunting! This method ensures all your quilting is done in manageable size blocks using a simple piecing method.
This workshop is suitable for beginners to quilting. You will need to be familiar with your machine and how to use it’s basic features such as winding and inserting the bobbin, threading up your machine and needle, changing the feet and needle and sewing a straight stitch. This session is not suitable for complete sewing machine beginners however, you do not need to have any experience of quilting. You must have a 1/4″ foot or the ability to move your needle to the 1/4″ seam allowance
What do you need to bring?
- Sewing machine and neutral thread
- 4 fat quarters of complimentary colour fabrics
- 1 patterned fat quarter( good one to use as a fussy cut centre focus)
- Backing fabric 10” square
- Batting 9” square
- You must have a 1/4″ foot or the ability to move your needle to the 1/4″ seam allowance
- Fabric marking pen
- Ruler
- Rotary cutter
