Block of the Month

It’s back! Your favourite monthly quilting workshop! Block Of The Month returns for February and March with the 60 degree triangle. Whether you are a master or a complete beginner with this shape, you will have a fabulous day with Helen and sew the most beautiful block!

You will be using a quilting ruler with a 60 degree marking on it to explore cutting, piecing and quilting this versatile shape. The block can also be easily turned into a table runner.

This workshop is a repeat of February so please DO NOT book on to both, places are limited!

Our Block Of The Month, BOTM, sessions are full of support and friendship and we welcome both newcomers and regulars. This is the only time this workshop will run this year.

What do you need to bring?

• x5 contrasting Width Of Fabric pieces at least 25cm of each (Please use 100% cotton)
• quilting ruler with 60 degree marking
• matching thread
• rotary cutter
• cutting mat
• 1/4” foot or capability to move needle on your machine to 1/4” (ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY)
• optional – 0.5m backing fabric and batting for a table runner

Required sewing knowledge/experience

This workshop is suitable for all intermediate quilters. You will need to be familiar with your machine and how to use it’s features such as winding and inserting the bobbin, threading up your machine and needle, changing the feet and needle and sewing a straight stitch. This session is not suitable for complete sewing machine beginners. You must have a 1/4″ foot or the ability to move your needle to the 1/4″ seam allowance.
