Brilliant Beginners – Festive Gift Bag

Would you love to learn how to use a sewing machine? Come and join Catie, our patient and wonderful sewing tutor, to sew a festive drawstring bag and begin your journey with a great simple project!

What will you learn?

Catie will show you the basics of using a sewing machine. You will go through threading your machine, winding a bobbin, using basic stitches, how to sew straight lines and turning corners.

You will then put your new skills into practice by sewing a drawstring bag in festive fabric, perfect for giving gifts in at Christmas!

This workshop is recommended for adults and teenagers above the age of 16. There will be a range of children and adult sewing classes available at Bugweed’s in the new year.

Previous experience required?

None, this is suitable for beginners.

What will I need to bring?

If you have your own sewing machine please bring that along, otherwise you are welcome to use one of our studio machines. It is much better to learn on your own machine but we do understand that this is not always possible so get in touch if you would like to borrow one.
